Homeschool Theatre Program - Currently Full

First Act’s Homeschool Theatre Program gives homeschool students ages 8–18 the opportunity to learn, create, perform, and grow together through a full school year of theatre. The program combines the experience of producing a full-scale musical with additional performance opportunities, workshops, theatre education, and plenty of opportunities to build friendships and be part of a creative community.

Our mainstage production for the 2026–2027 season is The Sound of Music: Youth Edition. Students will experience the entire production process, from auditions and rehearsals to tech week and live performances, while developing skills in acting, singing, dancing, character development, stage presence, and working as an ensemble.

Throughout the year, students will also have opportunities to participate in additional performances and activities, including a holiday performance, murder mystery show, workshops, and other special theatre experiences. Many of these opportunities are optional, allowing families to choose what works best for their schedules and interests.

At First Act, we believe theatre is about much more than putting on a show. Our goal is to create a welcoming and encouraging environment where students of all experience levels can build confidence, make connections, try new things, and discover what they are capable of, both on and off the stage. No previous theatre experience is required. Whether your child is stepping onstage for the first time or has been performing for years, there is a place for them at First Act.

When: Wednesdays, 10:00 AM–1:00 PM | 2026–2027 School Year
Where: First Act Studio, 10 Commerce Park North, Unit 2A, Bedford, NH
Cost: $250 for the full school-year program
EFA Funds: Accepted

Program tuition includes the mainstage production of The Sound of Music: Youth Edition, as well as additional performance opportunities, workshops, and activities offered throughout the year. We never want finances to be the reason a child misses out on theatre. Payment plans, discounts, and financial assistance are available, and we are always happy to work with families.

Space is limited to ensure every student has the opportunity to be involved and receive individual attention.

The dates for our Sound of Music rehearsals and performances are set. Activities for some of the dates following The Sound of Music are still being finalized, and additional details will be shared as those plans are confirmed.

Choose an Audition Time & Secure Your Spot HERE

Signing up for an audition time will secure your child’s spot in the 2026–2027 Homeschool Theatre Program. Space is limited, so families interested in participating are encouraged to choose an audition time as soon as possible. If there are audition times open there are spots available. If you don't see a time that works for you, choose one to secure your spot and then email us so we can find an alternative time for you to audition!

Official registration forms will be sent to participating families in early to mid-September. You do not need to complete the full registration form now in order to secure your spot.
